The FCC National Broadband Map

On Nov. 18, 2022 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released its latest version of the FCC National Broadband Map, which displays location-by-location views of high-speed internet availability across the country, as reported by internet service providers (ISPs).

State, local and tribal governments; third parties (such as other ISPs or public interest groups); and consumers may challenge the map’s accuracy on continual rolling basis. Ensuring that the FCC’s map is as accurate as possible will allow the BDO to implement federal broadband funding more efficiently.

The BDO submitted a bulk challenge to the FCC on February 15, 2023. The submission included 176,165 locations for review. The FCC accepted 9.6% of BDO’s challenges equaling 17,037 locations and rejected the other 159,128 locations.

We have provided step-by-step instructions on how to submit:

Our one-page guide is easy to share and includes links to video tutorials for individual challenge types.
