Applying and Interviewing

1. To apply for a posted position, click on the posting and then select Apply Online.
2. If you're a first-time user, click on the New User tab and you'll be asked to create a username and password. You must have your own email address to set up an account.
3. Once you've created an account, you can build an application.

Note: CPA Human Resources cannot retrieve username and password information. Go to CAPPS to retrieve your forgotten username or password.

Application Tips

• We do not accept resumes in lieu of an online application.
• We do not accept paper copies of the State of Texas Application for Employment.
• You must submit your application through the online application tool.
• Show all your relevant education and experience on your application.
• We will reject incomplete applications.

Interviews

• The hiring division schedules all interviews.
• Copies of college transcripts and other required documentation listed in the job description are required at the time of the interview.
• Candidates can monitor their status of their application in their CAPPS Recruit profile.

Job Offers

• If selected, the division and/or Human Resources Division will call to extend an offer of employment.
• Offers are confirmed with an official job offer letter via email.
• Offers will not be extended until interviews are complete.

Privacy Information

Per state law, information submitted for employment purposes may be subject to public disclosure under the Texas Public Information Act.

Online applications are stored on a secure site, and only authorized employees and hiring authorities have access to the information submitted.

With few exceptions, you have the right to request and be informed about information that the State of Texas collects about you. You are entitled to receive and review the information upon request. You also have the right to ask a state agency to correct any information that is determined to be incorrect (Government Code, Sections 552.021, 552.023 and 559.004).
