The refreshed Webfile will launch on Feb. 1, 2021. Webfile will be offline on Jan. 30 and 31 in preparation for the launch.
The Webfile eSystems links on the main Comptroller page will still work. However, if you have bookmarked the Returning User Logon page, you will need to save the new eSystems Welcome page URL.
Yes. You will use your current user ID and password to log in to the refreshed Webfile, and you will be asked to create new security questions. Any previously associated tax accounts will remain accessible.
However, if you have not used Webfile in four years or more, you will need to re-register in the updated system.
The security portal, which includes the login page, account creation and password reset process, and the Webfile eSystems homepage menu will change for all users. Sales tax filing and payment will have the new look and flow. All other taxes and fees will have the traditional Webfile look.

Initially, no. Going forward, however, users will be prompted to update their password every 18 months.
Yes, users will be sent a link (with a one-hour expiration) to click and update their password instead of being sent a temporary password. They can reset passwords by email if they answer one of their three security questions correctly, or by text if they have their mobile number on file and input the last four digits of their mobile phone.
In addition to the new look and feel, filers will be able to save an in-process return and resume it later for submission without losing data input. While the user interface/experience has improved, the filing process remains basically the same. List-filed returns will still require an overnight update to the mainframe.

Be sure to log out of Webfile after each session to prevent browser issues caused by logging in as a different user, or when accessing a different account. If you are experiencing these types of login errors, you can resolve them by clearing your web browser's cache.
