About AllianceTexas and the Alliance Global Logistics Hub

The Alliance Global Logistics Hub is part of the larger AllianceTexas development in Fort Worth. The hub is one of Texas’ two intermodal logistics facilities connecting air, ground and rail, allowing businesses to take advantage of trade via all three modes of transportation.

Located on Fort Worth’s north side, the Alliance Global Logistics Hub began in 1990 with the world’s first industrial airport.

Growing Strong

The Alliance Global Logistics Hub’s layout, location and structure differ somewhat from typical ports in our state, providing:

9,600 acres, as part of a larger 26,000-acre, master-planned, mixed-use development

A 500-acre multifaceted rail facility owned and operated by BNSF Railway

Two 11,000-foot runways

Direct access to three highways (I-35W, SH-170 and SH-114)

Intermodal Logistics Facility

Alliance Global Logistics Hub is one of Texas’ two intermodal facilities, making it different from traditional ports. Here’s how it works:

1. Parts come into port via air, rail or truck.

2. Parts are assembled at port facilities into larger components.

3. Components head to their next destination via air, rail or truck.

As a tenant at the Alliance GlobaL Logistics Hub, BNSF Railway operates three unique facilities:

  • Intermodal transport for the handling of containers
  • Classification yard for classifying and grouping railcars according to movement requirements
  • Finished vehicle transport for automobile manufacturers
