I know I'm only in middle school and thinking of what career I want to choose may seem really far away from now but there are two things in my mind that I really think I like. One is being an NBA basketball player but my father said I do have the skill potential but I still need to grow another foot to be able to play with the really big boys. The other thing I want to be when I grow up is·a FBI forensic examiner. This is what I would like to be because I find it fascinating how they do their job and the science behind it. Even at my age, I love watching forensic files and how they can use the smallest piece of DNA to catch the criminal. I would also like to do this in the future because not only do I find it fascinating but it also makes the world a better place and finds justice to the victims affected.
A forensic examiner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing forensic science activities, to include testimony in the field of forensic biology. Another form of forensic science is that of a computer forensic science. Computer forensic science was created to address the specific and articulated needs of law enforcement to make the most of this new form of electronic evidence. Computer forensic science is the science of acquiring, preserving, retrieving, and presenting data that has been processed electronically and stored on computer media. Computer forensic science is, at its core, different from most traditional forensic disciplines. This type of direct data collection has wide-ranging implications for both the relationship between the investigator and the forensic scientist and the work product of the forensic computer examination.
The degrees needed are either a bachelor's degree in molecular biology genetics, forensic sciences and/or Bachelor of Science in computer forensics. These degrees can be used to work as a federal, state or local officer is assisting to solve numerous different crimes. I found the information online and researched many universities and the FBI website. I would love to follow [my father’s] steps in making this society a safer place by catching criminals who prey and attack on victims of many of types.
