When I grow up I want to be a veterinarian that travels around the world to help endangered or exotic animals. I have chosen this career because when I was younger I would always watch TV shows about veterinarians and how they helped animals. I love animals so much and when they are hurt or need care it just breaks my heart. The animals I would love to work with are pandas, wolves, horses, dolphins, Blue Whales, coral reefs and many other animals.
In this career, exotic animal veterinarians have specialized training to handle exotic animals. All though these veterinarians usually help rare and exotic animals they are still able to help household pets. An exotic animal veterinarian can go to work and help animals in many places such as animal hospitals, zoos, and many on site locations. Theses exotic animal veterinarians could also work in in the scientific field doing experiments and also performing research on endangered or unusual species.
Because I want to be a veterinarian I must get a Bachelor's Degree and complete a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or known as a DVM. Some DVM programs focus on treating and caring for exotic animals. Exotic veterinary hospitals also offer residency programs for those interested in specializing in the discipline. Some zoos and wildlife habitats have internships and on the job training programs.
My job opportunities would allow me to observe, care and learn more about the animals I love. I would love doing my dream job. Again I would love to work with pandas, wolves, horses, dolphins, Blue Whales, and coral reefs. When I grow up I want to be a veterinarian.
