One career choice that has always interested me, Zack, is financial planning. It is my goal to get the proper education to become a financial planner when I am older.
The reason this career choice is interesting to me is because I have grown up around it. My dad is a financial planner and he has taught me a lot about money management. I have asked him numerous questions about this industry. I have always been interested in managing my own money, so I think I would enjoy helping other people manage their money. Plus, I think it would give me so many neat opportunities. I would be able to meet cool people, go to some pretty neat places, and most importantly help people achieve their financial goals.
If I don't go to college after high school, it would be very difficult for me to find a good financial planning job. So, in order to fulfill my goal of becoming a financial planner, I will need to attend a university fit for this career. I have taken the time to research some colleges that would open up opportunities for financial advising. Also, I've looked up what degree(s) I will need to be successful. Some colleges that I have researched include Baylor, Kansas State, Clemson, Louisiana State, Purdue, Texas Tech, and Georgia. All seven of these universities offer exceptional money management programs and classes. I will have to get a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in order to become a financial advisor.
There are so many great opportunities for me and for future financial planners. This industry is in great need for more qualified experts and that may never change.
