My name is Kaitlynn, and I have dreamed of being a veterinarian since I can remember. The idea of being able to help others by helping their pets was incredible, especially because I have always had many pets around to call my own. We become so attached to these pets that they become as, if not more, important than our families. Being a veterinarian would let me touch numerous lives in amazing ways, but I realize that I could use my talents in other ways to touch lives as well. I have begun to think about becoming a pediatrician where I can help restore children's health and parents' piece of mind.
I believe that I could be a great pediatrician with my many talents. First of all, I excel in math and science, both very important subjects in the field of medicine. Secondly, I am great with children. I feel comfortable talking and interacting with them which is surprising because I am a very shy person in general. Not only is pediatrics a good fit for my talents, pediatricians are in very high demand. Through research, I found that the job outlook for pediatricians in my state is 20%, nine percent higher than the national average. There are numerous opportunities for me, whether I work in a private office, clinic, or even hospital. There will always be children who are ill and therefore there is always a need for pediatricians.
Becoming a pediatrician requires lots of hard work and dedication. This career requires a doctoral or professional degree and usually an internship or residency which will cost lots of time and money. I would love to be able to do this but I would need help. This scholarship would help tremendously towards my goals and I would be extremely grateful.
