I want to become a successful real estate agent. It is a combination of many things: investing time into your education; money; training; researching a broker who can help me get my first client and passing state and national exams. That's not all there is to this industry, there's so much more!
There are many different steps that I need to take to become successful. I want/need to get educated and take pre-licensing courses. Some real estate agencies have specific education requirments. I may have to take an additional course after being hired on. Then, I need to choose a brokerage. When I look for a brokerage, it's important to know their reputation and additional training offered. Getting licensed is also very important. The state and national exams are for everyone to take.
Developing a real estate budget might be helpful, because becoming an agent isn't cheap. Startup fees are estimated between $1,500-$2,000, which should be divided between licensing courses, buisness cards, signs, and advertising, and association fees — not counting exam fees.
The first thing I need to do is go to real estate school. Many community colleges offer this course. It is usually one semester, and then I have to take my test. Once I pass that, I need to check out a few agencies such Remax, Century 21, etc. Knowledge is power, and the more I know about real estate, the more client I'll obtain. Not only will more clients leads to more listings, it will eventually turn into money.
I found out about this career by watching tv shows with my Parents. The shows are called "Million Dollar Listing" and "Bargain Hunting." These shows entertained me, because I thought it was cool to sell houses and make a good profit!
This career is great for me! I will be able to do all of this and enjoy every little bit! All though the cost is high, It'll be okay! Also the schooling will be perfect for me.
