When I grow up, I want to play golf as my career. I am interested in this career because I would like to have fun working while making money to pay the bills. In order to reach my goal, I will need to spend the next few years practicing hard and getting the proper coaching. Although the opportunities to play professionally are challenging, I believe that if I practice enough each day for the next five to seven years, I would have a shot at making it to the professional level.
A good way for me to make it to the professional level is to attend a college with a great golf department. The research I found shows that these colleges all have great golf and business programs: Texas A&M, Oklahoma State or the University of Texas. All three colleges have graduates who have made it to the professional level. If I could be taught by a good coaching staff, then I could excel in my sport. If I'm not able to make it on tour, then I'll have a respected business degree to fall back on from one of these institutions.
I want to play golf because it is something I really enjoy and I can do for a long time. It would be a fun, well-paying job. Golf would allow me to meet and play with lots of great athletes. I would get to travel the world playing nice courses that are a part of the history of golf. I could just imagine the announcers saying "Zack, we are ready for you on the first tee box." I like to have fun, and if I can do that and make money to pay the bills, what a great career.
