Hi, I am Savannah and I would like to work for the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The reason is because I love being around and helping animals. A lot of people are not taking care of their animals the way they are supposed to be treated. The reason I am interested in a career with the SPCA is that there are animals being mistreated, having too many babies, and some that just walk the streets.
SPCA is an abbreviation for the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The SPCA cares for mistreated and abandoned animals and finds loving homes. The SPCA also provides surgeries, medicines for illnesses, rehabilitates the injured animals, and spays or neuters the animals they are caring for.
The education needed for the SPCA is to graduate from a college or university with a degree in Veterinary Medicine or Criminal Justice. A degree in Veterinary Medicine would allow me to medically treat injured and sick animals. While a degree in Criminal Justice would allow me to help rescue abused animals.
There will always be opportunities in life for this career. As long as people have pets or animals continue having babies there will be a need for people interested in a career working for the SPCA.
Steps I took to learn about this career were watching the SPCA program on television and looking up information on the computer. People working for the SPCA provided real life examples of their work. Information about the SPCA obtained from the computer gave general information about the SPCA.
