As children we are told to "reach for the stars". But what does this really mean? To achieve certain goals we must fearlessly strive for the impossible. Thankfully my mom has invested in the Texas Tuition Promise Fund which lets me not only reach for the stars but touch them as well.
It is crucial to obtain a quality education in order to achieve my dream. After graduating from high school, I will enroll at Tarrant County College and complete my core curriculum in order to earn an Associate of Arts degree. Then I will go on to the University of Dallas and take higher level courses with the aim of receiving a Bachelor of Arts in English.
Since early childhood I have enjoyed making up stories. Now I intend to pursue this dream as my primary job. I plan to write a novel this year and hopefully have it published. Friends have read some of my work in progress and thought it was amazing! Their support has encouraged me to eventually become a professional writer. Writing will take discipline, hard work and lots of imagination. This field is very competitive and to succeed I will have to write original stories that my readers will enjoy.
Books are a great source of recreation. They seem to carry you away to another world. But when it is time to come back to earth, it is hard to put them down. I want my books to carry people out of their ordinary lives. More importantly, I hope to inspire others to reach and touch the stars.
