My name is Kyra and when I grow up I want to become a teacher. I want to be a teacher because I love working with kids. I also want to become a teacher because as a student now, I want a teacher who can teach me the information I need but also care about me and have fun!
For college I would like to go to the University of Texas in Austin. To do that, I will strive for good grades in high school. In high school, I would like to excel in the course I would like to teach. I'm not sure which class I would like to teach, but I am considering being a reading or writing teacher for 6th grade. The courses I take in high school also depend on what my college is expecting of me to get in. I will also need a little more practice with working with kids, and practice interacting with the parents.
I have thought about this information before, but I have talked (interviewed) my grandma who is a teacher. Some information she has told me is, you will need to take classes in college on how to interact with parents and how to tell if something is wrong in a kid's family life, or if he or she is bullied. She told me how if I am planning to work in elementary school I will need to learn a little bit of everything (every subject), and in junior high or high school you will take classes on what you want to teach and you will take classes for one other subject for back up.
