What Career Path I Would Like to Take ...

I, Zack, would like to become a financial advisor when I graduate from college. A financial advisor is one who helps people that are wealthy take good care of their money. This career path interests me because I really like to help people. Also, along the way, I would get to meet a lot of famous people.

How to Become a Financial Advisor...

Financial advisors must be really skilled with math and numbers and must earn a bachelor's degree from the college that they attend. Also, they must have each of these six skills:

• Analytical skills. A good financial planner should be able to discuss concepts with his/her client to help them through risky decisions with their money.
• Interpersonal skills. They need to get to know their clients and make sure they feel that their money is safe and secure. Also, they need to make sure that their clients trust them.
• Math skills. Personal financial advisors need to be skilled at mathematics because they constantly work with numbers every day.
• Selling skills. They should be able to persuade clients into buying their services.
• Speaking skills. Financial advisors should be good at speaking in front of a lot of people. They typically need to be able to talk to their clients about complex financial concepts in an understandable language.

Opportunities for Me to Get Into Financial Planning...

I think a good way for me to become a good financial advisor would be for me to go to a good college that has a good financial planning program. I have gone to many college websites and I found that the following colleges all have good financial advising schools:

• University of Texas
• Texas A&M University
• Texas Tech University

I think that any of these three colleges would help me get a good education to get a decent starting job and someday, even get me into a good financial advisors firm.

Education and Training...

Again, to be a good financial advisor, I would need to get into a good college for that and then earn my Bachelor's degree. To train, I would probably try to get into a decent job to start out, and make my way up to a financial advisors firm as my skills increase.
