My dream occupation as I get older is to become an executive chef. I have always been interested in creating and cooking exquisite food for others. I make meals for my family once a week. Usually I make something simple but sometimes I will make Chicken with Asparagus for example. I love food so much that I guess that I want to work with it as well.
Occupations in this work area require 4 or more years of college, and a degree in culinary arts. One place you could receive a degree is at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. You typically need 1-2 years of training and mentorship after college to become an executive chef. Once you get through training many opportunities become available. You can work in restaurants, cruises or become a private chef if you're good enough. I don't know where I'm going to end up. Learning about this career came from many different places including researching this online, on different websites including Careership and CareerlnfoNet, cooking food at home and going to different restaurants and learning about the different types of food.
Once an educational group came to my school to talk to us about different types of careers, one of them happened to be Culinary Arts, career training and how to get an occupation in one of those careers. This is when I first became interested in this career. I'm hoping to become a chef someday. Maybe this is the start.
