Chapter 312 Abatement Reports

The Abatement Report contains:

  • a table with basic abatement-related information;
  • a details report for each individual abatement; and
  • a downloadable spreadsheet containing abatement-related information throughout Texas.

Each new modified and/or canceled abatement are reported once to the Texas Comptroller (Tax Code, Chapter 312). The account numbers track the value of the property over time as improvements are made.

The abatement table contains more than 1,100 new, modified, and expired abatements reported to the Comptroller's office. Required reports are kept for three years after an abatement has expired.

These reports are dependent upon the lead taxing units providing complete and accurate information to the County Appraisal Districts (CADs) submitting the report. If the lead taxing unit has not given the CAD complete information, the fields may be blank or “Not Reported.”
